NOTICE: Don’t forget the Republican luncheon at Enzo’s in the Broadview Shopping Center on Tuesday, July 28th, at 12:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jamshid “Jim” Bakhtiar. Dr. Bakhtiar was an All-American fullback at the University of Virginia, played a year in the Canadian Football League, went to medical school, moved back to Iran (his family moved to the US when he was a kid), and then fled Iran on horseback during the Iranian Revolution.
In 2006 Dr. Bakhtiar was the recipient of the Football Writers Association of America Alumni Award. Video of the presentation can be found here. It is well worth your time to watch the video.
